* Job Title: Project Coordinator, Equity by Evidence
* Reporting Relationship: Principal Investigators
* Location: Flexible; the position holder will be expected to work from the TGI London office approx. 1 day per week
* Employment Duration: 15 months
* Start Date: January 2026
* Type of Employment: Part-time (0.4 to 0.6FTE), fixed-term
* Salary: £34,000-£40,000 per annum (for 1.0FTE and therefore pro-rated for 0.4/0.6FTE) (dependent on experience)

The Role

The Project Coordinator will play an integral role in delivering the Equity by Evidence project. The project aims to improve consideration of race & ethnicity in UK medical research by improving policies, education, skills, and awareness. Equity by Evidence is co-led the NHS Race & Health Observatory (RHO) and The George Institute for Global Health, Imperial College London (TGI). The RHO will provide strategic direction and expertise and TGI will lead delivery of the programme of work.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the organisation and administration of the project, overseeing our exciting programme of Policy Labs and policy co-design. The Project Coordinator will manage all aspects related to the project, including but not limited to: operational activities, stakeholder management, policy development, public engagement, collaborations and communications.

Relationships

This role is being offered at 0.4-0.6 FTE. It is a hybrid role with an expectation of a minimum of 1 day of in-person work per week. The post holder will be based primarily at TGI but will work closely with colleagues at the RHO.

The Project Coordinator will report to the Principal Investigators, Dr Ngozi Kalu (RHO) and Dr Kate Womersley (TGI). The candidate will work with two Policy Fellows and an external consultant with expertise in race and ethnicity in health.

Responsibilities

* Project coordination & administration: Develop and maintain project plans and timelines; support day-to-day project delivery to ensure activities are delivered on time; manage the project budget.
* Meeting and event organisation: Coordinate logistics for events, meetings and workshops; prepare and circulate meeting agendas; take meeting minutes.
* Communications: Send and manage communications with external stakeholders; prepare communications materials including webpages, social media materials & blogs; support drafting of project outputs, including reports and briefing materials.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

* Demonstrable experience in project coordination in an academic, NGO or public health context (or a related field), including oversight of budgets.
* Interest and knowledge about current evidence, debates and ethics around consideration of race and ethnicity in medical research. Understanding of intersectionality concepts.
* Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering events or workshops with external stakeholders, both online and in person.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders, and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce communication materials for diverse audiences such as academic, policy and public groups.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well flexibly, i.e. both independently and with a variety of teams.
