The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be leading the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring pupils stay on task and the lesson runs smoothly.
This isn’t a teaching role — but it does require presence, confidence and the ability to manage a room.
You will be:
* Delivering pre-set lesson work across a range of subjects
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
* Keeping pupils engaged and focused on their work
* Responding calmly and confidently to challenges
* Feeding back to teaching staff on how the lesson went

Who This Role Suits
This role works particularly well for individuals who:
* Are confident speaking in front of groups
* Can remain calm and assertive when needed
* Have experience working with young people (education, sport, coaching, youth work, etc.)
* Are considering a future career in teaching
* Want flexible work across different secondary schools
You don’t need formal teaching experience — but you do need to be comfortable leading a classroom.
Access to a car can be a real advantage for this role, as it can open up more opportunities across different schools. However, this is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
