Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team in providing care and assistance to people with substance misuse problems. The role involves supporting residents to complete medical detoxification from drugs and/ or alcohol.
Duties:
- Provide compassionate care and support to residents in a nursing home or assisted living environment
- Work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of residents
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Provide emotional support
Requirements:
* Life experience of being in recovery from Addiction
* Previous experience in a care-related role is desirable
* A caring and empathetic nature with a drive to help others
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Willingness to undergo training
* Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
Key Duties:
To liaise closely and co-operate fully with the Registered Manager and other staff to ensure the safe delivery of care to clients.
To maintain excellent standards in all aspects of service delivery, seeking high levels of satisfaction expressed by all stakeholders in the company.
To be responsible for monitoring patients as directed by the Registered Manager, Nurse and counselling team, ensuring that they are as physically and emotionally well as they can be (based on their clinical diagnosis), empowering people to take responsibility for the better management of their emotional and physical health in the future.
You will carry out observations, withdrawal assessments, vital signs, monitor fluid and nutritional intake and administer medication to patients.
To ensure that effective pre-admission, admission, and discharge procedures are followed.
To ensure that effective and appropriate communication is maintained about client care with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, including family members and professionals. This will involve active participation in daily handovers, client care review meetings, and team meetings.
