Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Building Control Surveyor to work with Manchester City Council on an interim assignment. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week (Mon – Fri). The incoming Building Control Surveyor will play a key role in ensuring safe, inclusive and climate-responsive development across the city. The incoming candidate will take the technical lead on building control projects, acting as a subject matter expert and driving service delivery standards across the team. Main Duties * Examine building plans and conduct inspections on a wide range of projects (excluding Class 3) * Lead on major projects, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and client requirements * Manage plan checking, site inspections, and enforcement relating to dangerous structures and public safety * Prepare detailed reports and legal notices as required * Mentor and support junior surveyors/engineers and contribute to team development * Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out service Essential Criteria * Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline such as Building Surveying, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture * Chartered membership of a recognised building control professional body (e.g., MCABE, MCIOB, MRICS, MIStructE, CEng) * Registered under the government’s Class 2 Building Control Com...
