Role Description
This is a full-time office based role for a Mechanical Design Engineer specialising in Heat Pumps and Residential Systems, with the position based in Milton Keynes.
You will be responsible for taking live enquiries and tenders into fully designed, install-ready systems which will include the below duties:
* Full room by room detailed heat loss calculations
* Designing complete heating and cooling systems
* Heat pump sizing
* Radiators / underfloor heating specification
* Hot water systems
* MVHR and cooling where required
* Producing accurate material schedules and kit lists
* Creating clear design packs for site teams
* Supporting procurement and ordering
You will also assist with:
* Detailed scope of works
* Technical documentation
* RAMS (where required)
Your work will directly impact project margins, install efficiency, and client outcomes.
Requirements
* Proven experience in residential heating and cooling design
* Strong understanding of heat loss calculations
* U-values and building fabric knowledge
* Experience using Heat Engineer, H2X or similar software
* Ability to work from technical drawings and produce full system designs independently
* Strong IT skills, CAD and Sketchup are an advantage.
