The Role
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will join our clients support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client, focusing solely on their needs. The role involves working Saturday and Sunday, 12-hour day shifts.
About The Client and Duties
Our client is a young man in his 20s with a brain injury and complex care needs. He requires structure, routine, and support with daily tasks to access the community and social activities.
The ideal support worker will have a calm, patient, and kind nature, with excellent communication skills. Since our client does not have verbal speech, communication is through facial expressions, an 'Eye Gaze' device, and body language.
You must be a driver with a full UK driving licence and be able to drive an adapted vehicle to appointments and leisure activities. Experience in complex and personal care is desirable.
Training and Support
We provide paid, comprehensive training covering:
* Full induction
* Safeguarding Adults
* Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene
* Tracheostomy Care / Oral Suction / Gastrostomy / Medication
* Moving & Handling with Hoist
* Epilepsy / Learning Disability / Mental Health Awareness
All training must be completed before the start date; training hours are paid at minimum wage.
Minimum Requirements
* Desirable: Complex care experience
* Full UK driving licence
* Commitment to long-term, person-centred care
* Reliability, compassion, and confidentiality
