Job Overview
Join the NELFT MHST team to deliver evidence‑based individual and group interventions for children and young people aged 5 to 18 with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The role supports whole‑school approaches, facilitates access to early intervention services, and contributes to the development and delivery of training for partner agencies.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will:
* Hold a clinical caseload and supervise junior staff and trainee EMHPs.
* Collaborate with schools, parents and other agencies to develop intervention plans.
* Provide risk assessment, care planning, and review of CYP supporting the formulation of treatment plans.
* Deliver evidence‑based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other low‑intensity interventions.
* Lead by example in clinical practice and support professional development of junior staff.
Responsibilities
As Senior Clinician and Supervisor you will:
* Be a graduate‑qualified health care professional with formal CBT training or extensive CAMHS experience.
* Maintain professional registration and stay current with evidence‑based interventions.
* Support the MHST Locality Clinical Leads and Operational Manager in service development and research participation.
* Deliver supervised clinical interventions while predominantly focusing on supervisory duties.
Qualifications
* Post‑graduate training in psychological practice (psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist) or equivalent.
* Registration and accreditation with an appropriate professional body (UKCP, BABCP, HCPC, NMC, SWE).
Experience
* Minimum 2 years of delivering evidence‑based psychological interventions to CYP.
* Experience providing caseload management and clinical supervision.
Benefits
* High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary (minimum £1,303 to £2,198 p.a. pro rata for part‑time), applicable to Basildon, Thurrock, Brentwood, Harlow and Dartford.
Required Training / Competencies
* Qualified CBT Therapist
* Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) or Children and Young People‑IAPT (CYP‑IAPT)
* Substantial CAMHS clinical experience (including CPD in evidence‑based psychological interventions)
