Internal Sales with Counter, Gower Timber (Swansea)

A builders’ merchant is a company which supplies materials to the construction sector.

Key responsibilities
- Dealing with sales of our building materials and responding to general customer enquiries, in person, by email and on the phone.
- Providing flexible cover for our counter sales, booking goods in and out using point of sale terminal.
- Giving prices and quotations, processing orders, arranging deliveries and associated administration.
- Assisting with stock control and placing orders.
- Being responsible for the pro‑active development of allocated customer accounts.
- Assisting with merchandising, price labelling and stock management front of counter.

Essential skills & experience
- Good selling skills with proven experience in a sales office position.
- Able to consistently deliver a first‑class customer service.
- Able to develop new business accounts, build excellent customer relationships and maximise profitable opportunities for the Company.
- Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent I.T. skills (Excel, Outlook and Word especially).
- Administrative accuracy and efficiency and the ability to grasp new systems quickly and follow company procedures and instructions carefully and thoroughly.
- Able to multitask, prioritise tasks wisely and complete them in a timely manner.
- Enthusiasm, confidence and a proactive personality.
- Good teamwork skills, but also able to work independently and with initiative.
- Reliability and versatility.
A knowledge of building products and an interest in sales within the construction industry.
