Job Title: Food Service Assistant

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only (38 working weeks per year)
Salary: £9,690 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Food Service Assistant to join our team at Cwmbran High School. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive working environment, delivering great service to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve food and beverages
* Assist with food preparation, cooking, and sandwich/cold food making
* Perform front-of-house duties such as table clearing, table service, and customer interaction
* Operate tills and handle payments
* Restock items and ensure effective stock rotation
* Maintain cleanliness in both front and back of house, including sweeping, mopping, and general housekeeping duties
Skills and Experience
* No prior kitchen experience required – full training will be provided
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Good communication and teamwork skills

Important Information
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. The successful candidate must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
