Ipswich Borough Council Address: Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2DE Salary: £36,363 - £38,220 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent, required as soon as possible Reference: 0568 An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Waste and Cleansing Supervisor, playing a key role in the Waste and Cleansing Management Service in Ipswich Borough Council. Reporting to the Waste and Cleansing Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective running of the waste collection and street cleansing services within the Borough of Ipswich. You will be a member of a large team carrying out a variety of frontline services that are often in the public and media spotlight. You will be part of a team responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that we are able to provide a safe and effective service with a first-class reputation. You will have 2 A Levels or an NVQ Level 4 or 3 years of qualitative experience. You will have line management responsibilities for a team undertaking various tasks and you will need to be able to lead, motivate and manage with ever changing work priorities in this vital front line, demanding service. You will be responsible for monitoring work standards and implementing performance management measures when necessary. You will also be expected to develop new working practices to ensure that we continue to operate efficiently and review these activities regularly in line with Health and Safety Executive best practice. This post participates in a five- week shift rota, which includes weekends with some Bank Holiday working required. To be suitable for this post you will have experience successfully leading a team of frontline staff. This experience may have been gained in a Waste and Cleansing role or perhaps working in Transport, Parcel or other multi-drop industry, leading a team that works remotely. You will be able to work on a rotating pattern of work, including early mornings, afternoons and weekends.
