We’re looking to attract someone who understands the pace and demands of manufacturing or logistics environments, who’s experienced in improving workflows, managing data-heavy systems, and delivering IT projects with limited resources.
This is a hands-on, predominantly onsite role in a well-established and growing SME. You'll be responsible for leading the company’s IT function, shaping infrastructure and internal systems, and driving data-led improvements across the business. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats; from writing SQL code and managing Windows applications, to supporting users and developing strategic plans.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Leading day-to-day IT operations with a focus on data accuracy, workflow efficiency, and secure system performance.
2. Writing and managing SQL code for data extraction, reporting, and integration (SSIS/SSRS).
3. Managing IT infrastructure, including virtual servers, network storage, and firewalls.
4. Supporting bespoke systems used in production, CRM, and logistics.
5. Playing a key role in Windows application support and development.
6. Ensuring compliance with ISO27001, licensing, and regulatory standards.
7. Developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
8. Working creatively within the limitations of an SME environment thinking resourcefully, solving problems quickly, and getting hands-on where needed.
9. Mentoring a small IT team and building strong cross-functional relationships.
What We’re Looking For:
10. Strong SQL skills and experience writing code for data analysis, reporting, or system integration.
11. A background in database engineering, systems analysis, or IT infrastructure.
12. Experience working in a manufacturing or logistics setting, with a solid understanding of how systems support operational workflows.
13. Proven track record of leading projects or improving IT systems in an SME setting.
14. Understanding of IT security best practices and ISO27001 compliance.
15. A practical, solutions-focused mindset with a calm and collaborative approach.
16. Confident communicator who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and making real, measurable impact.
