📌Purpose of Role:
You will provide expert guidance to our clients in optimising energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and sustainable building performance. This role is ideal for a professional with strong mechanical engineering expertise, experience in building services systems, and a solid understanding of compliance and technical standards. You will lead projects, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and develop innovative, practical solutions that enhance operational performance and deliver measurable results for our clients.
💼Principle Responsibilities:
Client Engagement:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their energy management needs and providing strategic recommendations.
* Conduct comprehensive building, energy and performance audits and assessments to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
* Account Management.
* Contractor management on behalf of clients.
Technical Expertise:
* Apply in-depth knowledge of energy systems and engineering principles to develop and implement sustainable solutions.
* Work on-site across various locations in the country to conduct energy and engineering audits, surveys and reports.
* Apply in-depth knowledge of building services regulations, design and compliance requirements.
* Lead and manage energy management and technical engineering projects from initiation to completion.
* Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring successful and timely delivery of consultancy services.
Team Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, energy managers, central support and finance, to ensure seamless project execution.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Finance Reporting:
* Provide accurate and timely financial reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the finance team to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and identify opportunities for cost savings.
🚀 Skills & Experience:
The following attributes are essential:
* Strong mechanical engineering background with proven experience in HVAC system.
* Understanding of building services, energy efficiency measures, decarbonisation, and sustainable practices.
* Proven experience in producing clear, high-quality reports and technical papers.
* Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and delivering M&E projects.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose technical problems, develop innovative solutions, and make sound recommendations.
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to use functions (e.g., VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, pivot tables, advance analytics) and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
* Full, valid UK driving licence.
The following attributes are desirable:
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline (BEng/BSc or equivalent required; MSc/MEng desirable).
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards chartership, through a recognised institution such as IMechE, CIBSE, or the Energy Institute.
* ESOS Lead Assessor (if working on compliance audits for UK clients).
* Knowledge of Heat Pumps system.
* Familiarity with building management systems (BMS), including capabilities and infrastructure.
