The School of Education is a vibrant and expanding area of the University of Chester, and provides high-quality Initial Teacher Education for Early Years, Primary and Secondary trainees through a range of BA and PGCE programmes delivered from its campuses in Chester, and through a variety of school‑led partnerships across the region.
The School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and innovative Senior Lecturer to join the teams contributing to the teaching and development of postgraduate and undergraduate ITE programmes taught at Chester. The successful candidate will be a primary or early years/primary specialist teacher able to lead and develop the teaching of a range of professional development and primary subject areas, as well as train, and support the next generation of high‑quality primary and early years/primary teachers. The post is for a permanent appointment.
You will be required to have an undergraduate degree, qualified teacher status, and a degree at Master’s level or equivalent (or to be working towards a Master’s level qualification). Proven experience of successful teaching in primary schools and experience of ITE at school or HEI level is essential, as is an informed understanding of the national agenda for Universities, Education and ITE. You will also have outstanding organisational, leadership and communication skills and the energy and vision to drive partnership developments.
We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants.
