Are you a passionate, flexible and creative teacher ready to make a real difference? We are looking for either a SEN teacher with a science specialism or a science teacher with experience working with pupils with special educational needs to join our forward-thinking and nurturing team.
We are an independent special school for pupils aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs. Our learners work at all stages of the national curriculum, and we offer a variety of qualifications including Entry Level Certificates, Functional Skills, and GCSEs to support them in achieving meaningful success.
You'll be teaching small classes (up to 4 pupils) and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. While your science expertise will be highly valued, you'll also teach subjects such as PSHE, reading, and life skills. You will lead science and maths across the school and play an important role in EHCP work, supporting families, and liaising with external professionals.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience teaching children with SEND, or is a science teacher eager to specialise in SEN
* Thinks flexibly and creatively to make learning accessible
* Has a nurturing, relational approach
* Is willing to get stuck in and support wherever needed
* Works collaboratively as part of a team
* Brings energy, curiosity, and a passion for inclusive practice
In return, we offer:
* Small class sizes (maximum 4 pupils)
* A therapeutic, child-centred environment
* A variety of accredited qualification routes to support personalised learning
* The opportunity to shape and influence curriculum design
* Professional development opportunities tailored to your career goals
* Supportive and approachable leadership
* Early start and finish (8:00am – 3:00pm; pupils leave at 2:15pm)
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a warm, welcoming school where compassion, creativity and curiosity are at the heart of everything we do. If you're looking to make a meaningful impact in a setting where no two days are the same – we'd love to hear from you.
