Ward Clerk - Acute Medical Unit. This is your chance to be part of an amazing ward team where patient care is central. The Acute Medical Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital is recruiting now, and we want you.
This role is to process admissions, transfers and discharges from the ward using the trust systems, while being flexible and adaptable to the needs of the ward. We are looking for a motivated, organized, friendly person who works well under pressure and enjoys working within a team. Strong communication with patients, their relatives, and the multi-disciplinary team is essential.
This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week (part-time opportunities are also available). The role operates on a 12.5 shift pattern including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Key responsibilities
The Acute Medical Unit provides emergency medical care for patients requiring admission under the care of our admitting emergency medical physicians. Medical Admissions is a 53-bed unit caring for a range of acutely ill patients requiring medical investigations and treatment in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a true multi-disciplinary team, including ward-based therapy support, and you will help set the patient experience from first contact with the ward.
