Medical Affairs Manager (m/f/d) UK/Ireland
Role Overview
The Medical Affairs Manager is responsible for providing accurate, balanced, and timely medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals, internal stakeholders, and external partners. The Medical Affairs Manager will support medical affairs strategy and execution during pre- and post-launch phases as well as life cycle management of our client's legacy products. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and supports the company’s medical strategy through evidence-based communication and collaboration.
Tasks
* Support medical contribution to product launch excellence, including medical launch planning, medical education, scientific narrative development, and cross-functional readiness.
* Drive lifecycle management strategies across assigned products in our client's portfolio.
* Maintain in depth knowledge of our client's therapeutic areas and keep updated on the latest scientific and clinical developments.
* Maintain regular contact with KOLs (non-promotional role), acting as a medical ambassador in representing our client's medical position with these customers as well as with associated medical and patient organisations.
* Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals and internal teams with scientifically accurate information.
* Proactively provide and deliver important information to support HCPs in the appropriate use products.
* Develop and maintain medical information resources, including standard response letters, FAQs, and clinical summaries.
* Develop medical briefing materials and presentations to engage with both internal and external customers through various channels including face to face / email and webinars.
* Develop and maintain training materials across our client's portfolio and engage with medical training of new and existing employees.
* Establish and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations with key physicians, contributing to KOL engagement plans and delivering presentations as required.
* Review promotional and non-promotional materials for scientific accuracy and compliance with ABPI Code of Practice.
* Monitor enquiry trends and provide insights to guide medical strategy and product lifecycle management.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access) to support product launches, congress activities and lifecycle management.
* Ensure adherence to industry codes (ABPI/IPHA), internal SOPs, and global compliance requirements.
Requirements
* Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Strong scientific knowledge and ability to interpret clinical data.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., GxP, ICH, PhRMA) and compliance processes.
* Experience with medical review systems (e.g., Veeva Vault) is a plus.
* Previous experience with engaging with clinicians and involved in presentations and face to face meetings.
* Analytical and detail-oriented with strong literature evaluation skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Vendor management and quality oversight experience.
* Proficiency in digital tools and omnichannel communication strategies.
* Good understanding of the UK & Ireland pharma R&D, regulatory and commercial environment.
* Proven record of self-motivation, accountability, integrity & teamwork.
* Willingness to travel.
