Job Summary
Due to expansion of our imaging service operating 7 days a week 08:00‑20:00, we are looking for a Band 4 RTT Validation & Clerical Support Officer in the General Imaging department at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. This role involves validating and tracking referral to treatment processes in a patient’s diagnostic pathway, escalating delays, trend analysis, data quality issues and maintaining administrative support.
Main Duties
* Validate and track the referral to treatment processes.
* Escalate delays due to insufficient clinical information.
* Address pathways that require events or scheduled events as per DM01 guidelines.
* Identify trends/key themes of incorrect requests/data entry.
* Flag significant data quality issues/errors.
* Maintain multiple roles and reserve lists.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* GCSE / A‑Level or equivalent standard of Education (including English/Mathematics)
Essential Experience
* Significant administrative/secretarial experience, maintaining office and patient record systems.
* Previous NHS experience in patient pathway management.
* Experience using CRS, RISe/PACS, Healthroster and Oracle systems.
Essential Knowledge
* Familiar with medical terminology.
* Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection Act; maintain confidentiality and information governance.
* Comprehensive understanding of the Diagnostic Patient Pathway and its place in the National RTT.
* Knowledge of computerised software packages: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, CRS/RISe/PACS.
Essential Skills
* Analyse complex data and use information to monitor processes.
* Take initiative, work unsupervised and prioritise own workload in a busy clinical environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; remain calm, courteous and efficient.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Produce accurate minutes/records of meetings.
