Nicholas Associates are working with an established Steel Manufacturing company based in Sheffield, who are looking to add an experienced Transport Planner to their team on a permanent basis. The role will be responsible for optimising the movement of metal products within and outside the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management of order books - reviewing impacts on schedules and changes
* Ensuring efficient and effective customer communication
* Dealing with customer approvals, outages, quality issues - risk identification and mitigation
* Being the main point of contact for customers - customer relationship management
* Key interface between customer, supply chain, and operations
* Dealing with the management of on-time delivery and arrears
* Having an understanding of steel manufacturing processes
* Dealing with quality/technical approvals
* Stock control
* Other duties to support the business
Key Requirements:
* Preferably degree qualified or equivalent relevant experience
* Ideally previous experience in a customer-facing role
* Planning/Scheduling/S&OP experience
* Previous experience with MRP/ERP systems
* Previous experience with a strong customer and operational focus
* Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment - ideally engineering.
