NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.
To work in the United Kingdom, you must have the relevant permission to work in the country, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK as part of the pre‑employment checks for a preferred candidate. Evidence may include specific visa types, EU settled and pre‑settled status, or UK Skilled Worker / Health & Care Worker Visa if the employer is a licensed sponsor and the post meets the salary threshold.
Failing to have the appropriate right to work in the UK or eligibility for sponsorship before submitting your application may prevent progression of your application.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, the post may require a different level of criminal records check. If assessed as a "regulated role," a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check may be required. Any changes to this requirement will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team.
