SEMH Teaching Assistant – Grantham (Full-Time)
We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive specialist school in Grantham, supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time role and a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
* Supporting students aged 11–16 with SEMH needs within the classroom and around the school
* Building positive relationships to help students feel supported, safe and engaged in learning
* Assisting the teacher with lessons and behaviour support strategies
* Encouraging confidence, emotional regulation and social development
* Providing 1:1 and small group support when required
Requirements
* Full-time availability during school hours
* Relevant experience preferred, such as:
o Teaching Assistant experience
o Support Worker or Care Worker roles
o Youth work or similar support roles
* Any relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant, childcare, health & social care, psychology or similar) are desirable
* A calm, patient and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
