Quality Assurance Engineer Location: Cranfield Length of Contract: 12 months Rate of Pay: Engineer £27.94 per hour Working Pattern: Minimum 3 days in the office / 2 days working from home (may vary depending on workload) Summary We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to provide expert quality assurance services supporting accessory and service part quality activities. The role involves monitoring product issues, developing and proposing countermeasures, and maintaining compliance with new product quality processes. You will ensure that accessories and parts development adheres to established quality standards, evaluate suppliers, and perform quality audits aligned with after-sales product plans. The role also includes managing supplier quality through PPAP validation and parts submission warrant sign-off, validating process changes and production site transfers, and tracking monthly issues and countermeasures. Effective liaison and coordination with cross-regional teams and customer satisfaction functions are essential to ensure quality targets are met throughout development stages. Key Responsibilities Monitor product issues and develop effective countermeasures Maintain and support compliance with New Product Quality Process (NPQP) Ensure development of accessories and parts meets quality standards Evaluate suppliers and conduct quality audits based on product plans Manage supplier quality via PPAP validation and PSW sign-off Validate process changes and production site transfers Track and report monthly issues and countermeasures Support information exchange with other regions Coordinate activities with Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) teams Deliverables / KPIs Successful achievement of quality targets at all development stages Monitoring and reporting on field performance of accessory parts Conducting internal and supplier process and control audits Skills Quality assurance and control expertise Supplier evaluation and audit experience Knowledge of New Product Quality Process (NPQP) Experience with PPAP validation and PSW sign-off Strong problem-solving and countermeasure development skills Ability to manage process changes and production transfers Excellent communication and coordination skills Data tracking and reporting proficiency Understanding of automotive accessory and parts development standards Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and regions Software/Tools Quality management systems (QMS) Audit and compliance software Data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel) Certifications & Standards Relevant quality assurance certifications (e.g., CQI, Six Sigma) advantageous Familiarity with automotive quality standards and supplier management processes
