Role: Family Intervention Worker

Location: Peterborough / Cambridge

Hours: Sessional, will include Saturdays

Salary: £13.54 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for experienced family support workers to join our team to deliver CAFCASS Improving Child and Family Arrangements (ICFA). ICFA help families agree safe, beneficial and sustainable child arrangements. The role involves working alongside parents to improve outcomes for their individual family over a 12-week period.

Sessions can be arranged at suitable times for you and the families you are working with, allowing flexibility of days and times worked. The role often involves some weekend work.

The Family Intervention Worker role is key in

* Reducing barriers and resistance to agreeing arrangements
* Promoting positive communication within families
* Ensuring children’s wishes and feelings are heard

To achieve the above, Family Intervention Workers will explore the current situation and work with parents and the children to agree a plan to break down any barriers, improve communication, observe family interactions during direct contact sessions and agree next steps and support parents to prepare a parenting plan for after ICFA has been completed. The role does require written reports.

Full training and support are provided to the successful candidate. This is an ideal role for graduates with experience of working directly with children and families.

The successful applicant(s) will be appointed subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS check. Online searches may be carried out as part of due diligence checks for shortlisted candidates.

Due to the volume of applicants we will get in touch only if selected for an interview.

In return for your commitment we offer the opportunity to join an open, supportive and tight knit organisation. Our fantastic work stems from our caring, family culture, which is at the heart of everything we do. We are an ambitious, inclusive team where voices are heard.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any role involving working with children will be subject to an enhanced/barred DBS check and staff will be required to complete a safeguarding self-declaration. The self declaration will require you to disclose information about offences that may impact on your suitability to work with children. For more information on this please visit Updated guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 ( GOV.UK ).

Children’s Links recognises and actively promotes the benefits of a diverse workforce and is committed to treating all employees with dignity and respect, regardless of race, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief. We therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.
