INTRODUCTION
JOB PURPOSE
To lead the Technical & Industrialisation teams to oversee the industrialisation, sample development, and pre-productionprocesses in apparel manufacturing. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production. Responsibilitiesinclude introducing efficient methods and automation, providing pre-production training, and implementing bestmanufacturing practices from the sample stage to bulk production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Industrialisation & Process Optimisation
o Lead the transition from design/sample stage to full-scale production (NPIs – New Product Introductions).
o Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production engineering methods to improve efficiency.
o Liaise with the process engineer to introduce best methods, automation and waist reduction initiatives to maximise productivity.
* Technical Development & Quality Standards
o Oversee the technical evaluation of new styles and trims/raw materials, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
o Set technical and quality standards and specifications in collaboration with design, product engineering, and quality teams.
o Troubleshoot production and quality issues, providing technical solutions quickly.
o Ensure compliance with customer and industry quality requirements.
* Pre-Production & Product Engineering
o Liaise with pattern cutters and CAD room to ensure consumption optimisation.
o Approve samples, technical packs, and production files before bulk production.
o Lead risk assessments for new styles to anticipate potential manufacturing challenges.
o Coordinate pilot runs and ensure smooth handover to bulk production.
* Team Leadership & Training
o Manage and develop the technical and industrialisation/sample teams. Monitor and review the teams’ weekly/monthly performance against agreed KPIs and objectives. Work with individual team members to agree and review objectives and agree personal development plans, taking action as needed to rectify under-performance.
o To champion communication, diversity and inclusion initiatives and continuously seek to improve levels of engagement and wellbeing across the team.
o Provide technical training to production staff, supervisors, and operators.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
* Stakeholder & Customer Liaison
o Work closely with PE/ PD teams during style development and approval stages.
o Collaborate with internal teams (production, planning, finance, quality, and engineering) to ensure seamless workflows.
o Support costing and pricing processes through accurate technical assessments.
PERSONAL PROFILE
* University degree in Textiles/Fashion, Materials and/orChemicals Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Textile/ClothingTechnology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
* Certificate in GSD
* Extensive experience in garment manufacturing, includinga technical or industrial management role.
* Strong technical knowledge of trench coat manufacturingprocesses (WW/MW/CHW).
* Expertise in identifying “non value-added operations”, andproductivity improvement.
* Skilled in pattern engineering, fabric behaviour, andgarment construction.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in technical documentation and use of CADsystems (Lectra).
* Proficient in MS Office applications
* Strong leadership & coaching skills
* Excellent communication, influencing and listening skills

* Ability to develop strong relationships with peers and cross-functional business partners
