Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic person who has excellent communication, IT literate and problem solving skills alongside a passion for patient centered care. You will work corporately within our Primary Care Team and will be supporting the Community Nurses in Bedford and the wider MDT to with provide high quality care to housebound residents who live with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and assist colleagues cover service needs, which will include working across the wider integrated team. Access to a car in order to carry out service duties is essential.

A full induction programme will be provided.

The Community Nursing Service operates between 08.00 to 21.00 hours and the working pattern will include a variety of rotational shifts which will include weekend, evening and Bank Holiday working.

Education/ Qualification/ Training

6. NMC Registered Nursing Associate
7. Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
8. GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent

11. Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
12. Working within a multidisciplinary team environment
13. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice
14. Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
15. Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

16. Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
17. Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
18. Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
19. Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
20. Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
21. Good verbal and written communication skills
22. Ability to assess, plan, implement and monitor care
