Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various manual machining equipment to produce precision components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with a variety of materials, including plastics. The Manual Machinist will play a crucial part in ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Operate manual milling machines and lathes to fabricate parts according to specifications.
* Assemble components and ensure they meet design requirements.
* Perform grinding operations to achieve precise dimensions and finishes.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various machining tasks.
* Conduct quality checks on finished products using basic maths and measurement techniques.
* Maintain tooling and equipment in good working order, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
* Collaborate with team members to improve processes and product quality.
* Interpret CAD drawings and schematics to execute machining tasks accurately.
Skills
* Proficient in basic maths for measurements and calculations.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
* Experience with tooling and understanding of plastics injection moulding processes is advantageous.
* Ability to assemble components with precision and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with grinding techniques and operation of milling machines is essential.
* Competence in using both hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Experience in reading and interpreting CAD drawings is preferred.
