Role Overview
Location: Worthing • Contract Type: Permanent • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 • Hours: Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-13:00 • Start Date: ASAP
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Application Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team. This role is ideal for a proactive and experienced design engineer looking to take ownership of projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
* Create layout, assembly, and detailed manufacturing drawings using 2D/3D CAD software.
* Provide technical support for standard products to customers and the sales team, including occasional site visits.
* Develop concept design proposals to support new business opportunities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product development from idea to launch.
* Conduct engineering studies to assess feasibility of new concepts.
* Support quality teams in evaluating product failures or returns.
* Generate bills of materials for new configurations and products.
* Produce CAD-based documentation including datasheets, work instructions, and marketing materials.
* Assist in the administration of the design department.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a design engineering role.
* Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
