Data Scientist - Python £700-£750 pd via Umbrella Initially for 6 months with long term potential Global Retail business is looking for a Data Scientist to join their advanced data science team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply cutting-edge machine learning techniques to real-world problems, driving innovation and value across a data-rich business environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and deploy data science solutions to support business initiatives, with a focus on machine learning and time series forecasting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into production systems using modern cloud platforms. Communicate insights and model outputs to stakeholders in a clear, actionable way. Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience working as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer in a commercial setting. Strong programming skills in Python, with hands-on experience using libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Jupyter, and Matplotlib. Proficient in SQL for data extraction and transformation. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI for developing and deploying ML services is highly desirable. Solid understanding of time series analysis and forecasting techniques. Strong foundation in computer science principles - data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and data modelling. Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms including but not limited to Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost.
