Transport Shift Manager

Our client is a niche FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Transport professional as they look to recruit a Transport Shift Manager at their site in Bellshill, on a Tuesday to Saturday shift (1000hrs - 1830hrs).
Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the busy Transport operation, with a fleet size of c15 units and 16 Drivers. The site operates on a multi-drop basis.
Key Accountabilities as Transport Shift Manager:
1. Ensure compliance of HHT processes
2. Vehicle Routing for max efficiency and customer satisfaction
3. Ensure Operators License processes are maintained
4. Build and maintain relationships with colleagues.
5. De-brief drivers on return
6. Monitoring of return orders/goods
7. Assist with driver training, files, and documentation.
8. Ensure outstanding documents from Depots and Suppliers are received and resolve any anomalies
9. Routing 1 Sunday in 2 (approx. 1530hrs - 1630hrs).
The Ideal Person for the Transport Manager role:
1. Ability to work effectively in a busy environment with daily deadlines
2. Good interpersonal communication skills to integrate into team
3. Ability to work on own initiative and suggest/implement improvements in process
4. Flexible approach to working with customer and rep deadlines
5. Ambition to develop & grow within the role
6. IT literacy and knowledge of MS Office package. Routing software and Power Bi an advantage.
7. Class C License, DCPC Card & Digital Tacho Card
