Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Distribution Manager, the Customer Service Coordinator will be responsible for processing orders and coordinating the day-to-day deliveries of ReadyMix concrete by vehicles owned and operated by Tarmac third-party haulage bases.
Responsibilities for this role of Customer Service Coordinator will include:
* Engaging with customers to receive and process ReadyMix concrete orders
* Scheduling delivery times in line with customer expectations
* Working alongside the distribution team and the wider area transport team to provide a cost-effective, sustainable, safe, and customer-focused transport operation for the business
* Management of compliance and legal requirements from statutory, industry, and Tarmac perspectives, ensuring all contract and/or third-party hauliers operate to Tarmac standards, practices, and procedures
* Strategically planning and building relationships with Third Party haulage suppliers through contract negotiation
* Working with the Logistics and Production Managers to provide medium to long-term plans to meet demands
This role is a Monday - Friday position on a rotating shift pattern (7am – 4pm and 8am - 5pm) and Saturday mornings when required (approximately once per month).
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar industry supporting a wider team. Industry experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates with proven customer service or distribution/route planning experience in an office environment, and who enjoy teamwork, are encouraged to apply.

* Proven experience working collaboratively within a team to ensure timely and high-standard task completion
* Good verbal and written communication skills, with confidence to build rapport with customers and colleagues
* A team-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge processes and behaviors
* Flexibility and adaptability in work approach
* Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders at all levels
* Strong problem-solving skills, numeracy, and analytical ability
* A commercially minded approach
* Determination to succeed and lead improvements
* Ambition to learn new skills and achieve personal and business goals
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with SAP and CRM systems preferred
