To manage SCVOs day-to-day operations, drive innovation, and lead capacity-building activities. The role ensures the delivery of high-impact support for Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations in Sandwell, including the development of sustainable commercial services, effective partnerships with the private sector, and a strategic approach to organisational change.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
* Support the CEO and Trustees in strategic leadership, corporate planning, and policy implementation.
* Provide leadership across SCVO, contributing to its strategic, social, commercial, and reputational development.
* Champion and embed SCVOs vision, values, and culture.
* Lead the design and delivery of SCVOs capacity building support for VCS organisations.
* Ensure services are informed by robust local intelligence, evaluation, and stakeholder feedback.
* Oversee the development, marketing and delivery of a suite of chargeable commercial services aligned with SCVOs core mission.
* Lead on identifying and delivering new income-generation models including consultancy, training, and paid advisory services.
* Build, maintain and grow partnerships with private sector organisations, exploring sponsorship, joint ventures, pro bono support, and collaborative delivery opportunities.
* Lead and manage organisational change initiatives, ensuring staff engagement, risk mitigation, and alignment with SCVOs strategic goals.
* Manage operational delivery, contracts, HR, compliance (including GDPR), premises, and health & safety.
* Oversee and develop SCVOs use of digital resources and tools
* Lead on quality assurance frameworks, including achievement and maintenance of external accreditations.
* Ensure smooth collaboration with other local infrastructure organisations and public sector bodies.
* Provide strategic and operational leadership as a member of the management team.
* Line-manage staff including capacity building and administrative roles, delivering regular performance management and development support.
* Directly contribute to service delivery when appropriate.
* Contribute to SCVO communications, events, reporting and advocacy.
