The role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Conflicts/Business Acceptance Analyst to join our Business Acceptance department in London, Bristol or Dublin. To provide and manage the business acceptance of all new clients and matters which involves providing a conflict checking service to the whole firm, screening new business for sanctions, compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, and communicating with the partnership. To ensure that new client documentation meets compliance requirements. What will you do: Shared responsibility for providing the conflict and sanctions checking service to the firm world-wide. Analyse conflict check requests from the business and run searches in our business acceptance database – Intapp - for legal and commercial conflicts and confidential information issues. Assist in maintenance of client and matter opening database to drive better data quality. Maintain related documentation and ensure that conflict checks and matters are accurately finalised in line with internal policies and procedures. Search databases and freely available sources to identify ownership and corporate structures as needed, and also for further information for conflict and risk purposes as appropriate. Carry out matter, and where applicable, client risk assessments in line with AML legislation. Communicate effectively, concisely and accurately with the Business and with other business service functions to uphold the reputation of the department. Document and where needed, escalate to senior team members or management, any conflict, AML, financial crime or reputational risks identified as part of matter opening. Work with team to ensure department workload is managed and b e proactive with supporting that. What we are looking for: Prior experience in a conflicts related role preferred but not essential. Law firm or similar regulated market/corporate experience could be helpful along with a keen interest in Conflicts/AML. A basic understanding of money laundering/KYC (Know your client) regulation and UK conflicts rules a benefit, or at least a keen interest with the ability to discuss the topics. Ability to learn and develop understanding of the areas in which the Business Acceptance function operates. Attain familiarity with client base and the type of work the firm does. Business research skills. Broad IT skills. Willingness to learn and fully engage with the training and the team. Articulate with excellent oral and written communication style. H igh commitment to accuracy and efficiency and building relationships with others in the firm. Have good problem-solving skills, an enquiring mindset and be prepared to ask questions where things are unclear or don't make sense. Ability to organise workloads, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Ability to identify potential risks. Strong sense of teamwork. The normal working hours for this role are 9.30 – 17:30 however flexibility with working hours and willingness to work extra, and on occasion, unsociable hours when required.
