We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing finance team based in North Manchester. This is a full-time, office-based role offering a fantastic salary and the opportunity to play a key part in the financial management and decision-making of the business.
Description
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
Produce monthly management accounts, project reports, budgets and forecasts.
Track and review contract and project profitability, including WIP, variations and payment applications.
Analyse project performance to highlight financial risks, cost overruns and opportunities for improvement.
Provide clear financial insight to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Maintain and enhance accounting procedures, systems and internal controls.
Monitor income, expenditure and cash flow to ensure projects remain within agreed budgets.
Support, develop and mentor junior members of the finance team.
Translate complex financial data into clear, practical information for non-financial stakeholders.
Ensure accurate WIP reporting, revenue recognition and payment applications in line with relevant accounting standards.
Proactively identify and manage financial and commercial risks, particularly around project delivery and contract performance.
Profile
A successful candidate will be:
Proven experience in a Management Accountant role
Part qualified, fully qualified or qualified by experience
Experience working within contracting or construction industry - essential
Strong excel and financial analysis skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
