Primary objective of this position:
We are seeking an experienced Operations & Facilities Manager -to take ownership of our site operations, facilities, compliance obligations, and support with commercial contracts.
This is not a warehouse management role. While operational oversight is essential, the role is primarily focused on commercial judgement, supplier and contract management, statutory compliance, and delivery of site and systems projects.
You will work closely with senior leadership and external partners, ensuring the delivery of key facilities tasks, how risks are managed, and how improvement projects are delivered.

Location: West Bromwich
Contracted Hours : 40 hours per week
Contract Term : Permanent
Key responsibilities and performance measures for this role:
Commercial & Contract Management
* Support in the management of external service contracts (facilities, utilities, compliance, specialist contractors).
* Support and assist with commercial contract negotiation, renewals, and performance management.
* Challenge suppliers on scope, cost, service levels, and compliance.
* Act as the internal point of accountability for third-party service delivery.
Facilities & Site Management
* Take ownership of site facilities, including 9 reports, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
* Plan and oversee maintenance, improvements, and upgrades to buildings and infrastructure.
* Manage contractors on site, including permits, RAMS, and safe systems of work.
Compliance & Risk
* Support in statutory and regulatory compliance across the site (H&S, fire, environmental, building compliance).
* Ensure the team carries out audits, inspections, and documentation to a high standard.
* Act as a point of contact for regulators, auditors, and insurers where required.
Operations Oversight
* Provide senior oversight of day-to-day site operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and continuity.
* Work with operational teams to remove blockers and improve processes rather than micromanage activity.
Projects & Systems
* Assist in the coordination of site and IT-related projects, including infrastructure upgrades, and process improvements.
* Ensure projects are commercially sound and operationally sustainable
Experience & Profile
Essential:
* Proven experience in an operations, facilities, or site management role with commercial and compliance exposure
* Experience managing external suppliers and service contracts
* Strong understanding of UK compliance and regulatory requirements
* Ability to run multiple workstreams and projects concurrently
Desirable:
* Experience supporting or leading contract negotiations
* Exposure to IT or systems projects
* Background in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments
