Job overview
1 Year Fixed Term based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT).
We are looking to recruit Surgical Undergraduate Clinical Teaching Fellows who will work as part of our integrated multi professional team and will focus on enhancing Surgery undergraduate education within the Trust. These posts will provide an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop themselves as an educator.
You will join dynamic and friendly teams and will be the point of contact for medical students who are on clinical placements at the Trust. You will teach the students directly, and also coordinate and arrange a diversity of medical education sessions. Cross-site working to provide teaching support to different specialties across our various sites will be required.
These posts are full time roles open to trainees in any grade/specialty who will have at the point of commencing the role, at least one year of clinical experience post foundation level (or equivalent).
These posts will start in August.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will be expected to:
• Deliver required teaching sessions for the post
• Produce, coordinate and evaluate students' timetables
• Attend weekly team meetings
• Participate in examination skills, clinical skills, simulation training and bedside teaching
• Work with UG Team to organise and ensure smooth running of OSCE and CPSA exams
• Contribute to educational development and quality improvement
• Promote educational research
• Provide welfare support for students
• Design and implement projects to develop new learning opportunities
• Support within a wide range of surgical specialties
