Role: Architect / Architectural Technologist

Critchley Architecture And Design is a chartered, award winning architecture practice based in the center of Havant, Hampshire. CAAD attract a diverse range of projects, including one-off bespoke residential new builds and alterations, housing developments, commercial schemes, and heritage projects. The practice prides itself on our strong network of fellow industry professions and longstanding clients built over a rich 32 years of existence. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality proposals, and an ever-increasing pipeline of exciting projects, we are now looking to expand our team with a chartered Architect / Architectural Technologist.
The candidate will need to be a qualified Architect (ARB) or Architectural Technologist (CIAT) with experience taking projects from a first initial consultation through the Planning and Building Regulations process.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and contribute to the design and technical development of projects from concept through to completion.
● Familiar with the UK Planning process, with local planning policy knowledge being preferable
● Produce high-quality drawings, specifications, and detailed construction packages.
● Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
● Manage planning and building regulation submissions.
● Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Skills & Experience
● Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience as an Architect (ARB registered) or Architectural Technologist (MCIAT preferred).
● Strong technical knowledge of UK building regulations and construction detailing.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suites is preferable.
● Excellent communication and project management skills.
● Experience taking projects from initial consultation through to completion.
