About The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Principal Contracts and Procurement Officer to join Slough Borough Council’s Contracts and Procurement Team in Adults Social Care. You’ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, overseeing contracts, and ensuring procurement processes deliver strong value while meeting legal and best‑practice standards. This isn’t just about contracts; it’s about making a real difference for residents. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council to support services and transformation projects, helping to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and make services better for the people of Slough.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage a portfolio of contracts, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
* Work with providers to encourage innovation and add value.
* Support fee negotiations to ensure fair costs while maintaining the quality of care.
* Assist with procurement, tenders, and mini‑competitions.
* Deputise for the Contracts and Procurement Team Manager when needed and support the wider team in achieving goals.
