Purpose:
To provide strategic and operational leadership to AHEAD International, ensuring effective delivery of programmes, regulatory compliance, and organisational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide overall strategic leadership and direction in line with AHEAD International’s charitable objectives.
* Oversee organisational operations in the UK and international programmes, including Sierra Leone.
* Lead and manage senior staff, ensuring effective performance management and staff development.
* Ensure compliance with UK charity law, safeguarding standards, and Home Office sponsor duties.
* Oversee financial sustainability, budgets, and reporting to the Board of Trustees.
* Represent AHEAD International to funders, regulators, partners, and external stakeholders.
* Lead organisational risk management and governance processes.
Person Specification – Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior‑level experience in Charity Management, International Development, Public Health, Social Policy, or a related field.
* Minimum 7 years’ senior leadership experience within the charity, public, or voluntary sector, including strategic planning and organisational leadership.
* Proven experience of managing multi‑country or international programmes, including oversight of staff and operations.
* Demonstrable experience of financial oversight, budgeting, and working with Boards of Trustees.
* Experience of partnership development and stakeholder engagement at senior level.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Strong understanding of UK charity law, governance, safeguarding, and compliance requirements.
* Eligibility to work in the UK and meet Home Office requirements for sponsored skilled roles.
