West London Children’s Healthcare (WLCH) are recruiting three Band 7 Paediatric Asthma Clinical Nurse Specialists, with one post allocated to each site across the WLCH network:
* St Mary’s Hospital
* Chelsea & Westminster Hospital
* West Middlesex University Hospital
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver high‑quality, specialist asthma care for children and young people across North West London, working autonomously within the paediatric respiratory multidisciplinary team.
* Manage a complex caseload and undertake advanced clinical assessments.
* Develop personalised asthma management plans and support self‑management education.
* Coordinate care across acute, community and primary care settings.
* Support children from deprived and underserved communities, addressing health inequalities.
* Align practice with NICE guidance, BTS/SIGN asthma guidelines, NHS England standards and NWL ICs priorities.
* Contribute to service development and population‑health initiatives, including Core20PLUS5 for children and young people.
* Conduct audits, analyse service data to drive improvement, and ensure asthma pathways are accessible, equitable and responsive.
* Provide teaching, supervision and leadership to colleagues, maintaining professional development.
* Communicate effectively with families, GPs, schools and the wider multidisciplinary team; promote consistent best practice.
* Participate in ICs network meetings, Trust initiatives and multidisciplinary discussions.
Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate advanced clinical skills and experience in paediatric asthma care. Equivalent qualifications and experience are considered.
