Graduate Teaching Assistant Just graduated and thinking about teaching? Or maybe you want classroom experience before committing to a PGCE? Teaching Personnel is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across County Durham - full-time roles that could turn permanent if it's the right fit. What you'll do: Support teachers in lessons, work with small groups or individuals who need extra help, assist with classroom management, and generally keep students on track. You'll be in the thick of it - not just photocopying in the corner. It's proper experience that'll show you whether teaching is for you (and give you solid evidence for future applications if it is). You'll need: A degree (Education-related is great, but any subject works) Good communication skills and patience Willingness to collaborate with teachers and other staff Classroom or childcare experience helps but isn't essential if you've got the right attitude DBS check (or be ready to get one) Why this role works: Full-time hours mean consistent pay and you're not scrambling for shifts. Temp-to-perm means if the school likes you and you like them, it can become permanent. You get real responsibility, not just observation. And you'll have consultants who know the schools and can advise you properly. Pay: £90–£100 daily (depends on experience) Contract: Full-time, starting temp with perm potential Start: January 2026 Location: Durham Send your CV or call if you're interested.
