Job Description
Do you enjoy coaching and developing the skills of others? Do you have experience in developing processes by collaborating across teams to ensure transparent and effective environmental regulation?
You will join a water quality-focused regulatory team of specialists, driving strategic change within the water sector, especially concerning storm overflows.
The role involves working proactively with Environment Agency teams and external organizations to develop audit processes for water quality investigations under the Storm Overflows Assessment Framework and Environment Act. Responsibilities include creating training courses on Urban Pollution Management (UPM), responding to technical queries, and coaching staff on sewerage and water quality investigations.
As part of a dispersed team, you will engage with various teams across the country involved in water regulation and quality planning.
Responding to incidents is a key aspect of this role. You may opt to participate in incident response, which could include additional payments and full training.
The Team
This position is within the Water Quality Regulatory Development team in Water Industry Regulation. The team is distributed nationwide. The successful candidate must work independently while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience/Skills Required
* A relevant degree such as civil engineering or environmental science, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Experience with sewer modelling and/or river quality impact modelling for UPM studies, including model audits.
* Knowledge of environmental planning and regulation of Water and Sewerage Companies.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to coach others effectively.
* Experience in embedding new approaches into business through collaboration across dispersed teams.
