A prestigious and forward-thinking Scottish law firm is seeking a Senior Solicitor to join its Property Litigation team in Edinburgh. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially astute and ambitious legal professional to take a leading role in a dynamic and growing practice.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator with a passion for property law and a drive to contribute to strategic growth. You’ll work closely with a diverse client base—including commercial enterprises, public sector bodies, rural estates, and private clients—delivering high-value, complex litigation services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead on a wide range of property litigation matters, offering strategic and commercially sound advice.
2. Represent clients in courts and tribunals including the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, Lands Tribunal, and First-tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber).
3. Drive business development initiatives and strengthen client relationships.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Commercial Real Estate, Rural Land & Business, and Private Client departments.
Areas of Expertise
5. Commercial landlord and tenant disputes (rent recovery, irritancy, dilapidations, lease interpretation)
6. Title rectification and boundary/access disputes
7. Land Court and Lands Tribunal applications
8. Housing disputes (private and social)
9. Judicial reviews and professional negligence claims
10. Alternative dispute resolution (arbitration and mediation)
