Job Title: Senior Catering Assistant
Salary: £24,850 (pro rata £21,337 - Fixed point per annum)
Location: Huddersfield
Hours and Weeks per Year: 37 hours, 38 weeks per year
The role of Senior Catering Assistant is based at our Waterfront Campus in Huddersfield. Supporting and working with the Catering Supervisor, your focus will be on taking the lead in the kitchen, providing a world-class and welcoming yet professional approach to providing students and staff with a high standard of quality food, which is varied, healthy, meets a wide range of dietary requirements, and is value for money.
Your key responsibilities will include accepting deliveries, preparing, cooking, presenting, and serving food and drinks, ensuring sufficient amounts, variety, and quality of foods while adhering to menus. You will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen and refectory in a clean, hygienic, and acceptable condition, ensuring all payment transactions and recording are in line with college requirements and regulations.
A current Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is essential, as is demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced kitchen and front-of-house, customer-focused catering role. You should be able to plan and prioritize multiple tasks, be organized, and have excellent customer service skills.
