Bristol (City of Bristol)

Offer description

Do you speak more than one language and love the idea of helping children grow in confidence?

We’re working with friendly and welcoming primary schools across Bristol who are looking for brilliant multilingual Teaching Assistants to support pupils in the classroom, especially children who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).

For many children, hearing their home language or having someone who understands their culture can completely change how they feel at school. It helps them settle quicker, join in with learning, and feel safe, seen, and included.

That’s where you come in

Whether you speak Arabic, Polish, Somali, Urdu, Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Bengali, or any other language, your skills could make a real difference every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing ✨

No two days are the same, but you could be:

* Supporting children in lessons across KS1 and KS2
* Helping pupils build confidence with English and classroom routines
* Working 1:1 or with small groups
* Encouraging children socially and emotionally
* Supporting communication between school and families
* Being a friendly, calm presence in the classroom

You don’t need years of experience, just the right attitude, a caring nature, and a genuine interest in supporting young people.

Why People Love This Role

* £92 to £94 per day, paid weekly through PAYE
* Flexible work that fits around your life
* A brilliant way to gain classroom experience
* Opportunities for longer-term and permanent roles
* Free training through our CPD Academy
* Ongoing support from a local Bristol consultant who really knows their schools

This Could Be Perfect For You If You…

* Speak more than one language
* Enjoy working with children or young people
* Are patient, positive, and approachable
* Want experience before teacher training or a career in education
* Love the idea of doing meaningful work that genuinely helps others

What We’ll Need From You ✅

To get everything cleared for work, we’ll need:

* Passport
* Two proofs of address
* A CV covering the last 10 years
* Two years of references
* DBS check, we can help arrange this
* Overseas Police Check if applicable

Ready to Get Started?

If you’re looking for flexible work where your language skills can genuinely make children feel more confident, comfortable, and supported at school, we’d love to hear from you.
