Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic Occupational Therapist (equivalent to a band 5 to 6 dependant on experience) who has excellent communication and prioritisation skills with a flexible person‑centred approach to join our supportive team. Responsibilities
* Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments in the community to prevent hospital admission and frailty progression.
* Formulate and deliver individual, goal‑oriented treatment programmes based on evidence‑based practice and assessment findings.
* Provide training, supervision and advice to therapy assistants, junior staff and nurses.
* Maintain accurate records in accordance with legislation, professional and service policy.
* Organise, triage and prioritise own caseload, adapting plans as circumstances change.
* Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team, including social care, voluntary sector and other services.
* Implement and evaluate evidence‑based audits and projects to improve clinical practice.
* Supervise and support junior staff, providing clinical supervision when required.
* Ensure safe and effective use of prescribed equipment, training patients and carers accordingly.
* Adhere to Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards, maintaining knowledge of national and local guidelines.
* Act on safeguarding responsibilities, recognising and reporting concerns in line with local and national policies.
* Delegise duties and contribute to operational management when senior staff are absent.
Qualifications
* BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (HCPC registered)
* Experience of working in an OT role
* Excellent communication skills: calm, professional and able to respond to patient and stakeholder needs
* Skilled in signposting and referring patients appropriately
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications and confident in learning new clinical systems
* Accurate data input, interrogation and management with strong attention to detail
* Demonstrated understanding of data confidentiality, processes and procedures

Salary: £38,880.72 a year
