Your new company Oxfordshire County Council is seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker to join their Learning Disability Team as part of an exciting new service implementation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and resilient practitioner with strong experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex mental health needs. Your new role Working within Adult Social Care, you'll carry out Care Act assessments, develop strength‑based support plans, manage a diverse caseload, and work collaboratively to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred outcomes. You'll also contribute to safeguarding enquiries and may be involved in preparing evidence for the Court of Protection (with Practice Supervisor guidance).This role would suit someone confident working in a developing team environment and adaptable in times of change.Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive Care Act assessments for adults with varied and complex needs Develop strength‑based, outcome‑focused support plans Manage a mixed caseload, including complex cases requiring professional curiosity and strong analytical skills Complete Section 42 safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments Work closely with families, carers, health partners, and multi‑agency professionals Maintain accurate, person‑centred, strengths‑based records Participate in duty and act as a trusted assessor Prepare and present evidence for Court of Protection applications (with support) What you'll need to succeed Essential SWE‑registered qualified Social Worker Minimum 2-3 years post‑qualified experience within Adult Social Care Strong background in Learning Disabilities Experience with autism, mental health, and complex casework Robust knowledge of relevant legislation: Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act 2005 Mental Health Act 1983 Excellent communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team Flexible, organised, and confident handling change in a newly developed service.Desirable Experience completing strength‑based assessments Understanding of whole‑system working and identifying efficienciesAdditional Information Hybrid working: Minimum 2 days per week in the office Enhanced DBS with adult barred list required Ability to travel across the county as required Agile working supportedWhat you'll get in return You'll be part of a supportive, forward‑thinking service that values: Continuous learning Kindness and care Equality and integrity Innovation and responsibilityWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
