Overview
Air Quality Consultant position in AtkinsRéalis, with opportunities on major air quality and carbon projects in the UK. Permanent role with hybrid home/office working options, based in Epsom, Birmingham or Manchester. We are a leading design and engineering consultancy delivering air quality consultancy and emissions management for land development, transport, and energy clients.
You will deliver technically excellent work with high reporting standards and embrace innovative assessment approaches. You will work on desk and field-based air quality, dust, odour impact assessments for planning applications, emissions calculations and dispersion modelling, and related environmental services. You will lead tasks and provide technical support within a team across the business.

The role will include
* Designing and undertaking air quality surveys, analysing and interpreting data.
* Producing air quality, dust, odour and carbon assessments for infrastructure projects.
* Advising on and identifying solutions for mitigating effects of air pollution and carbon emissions.
* Preparing and delivering a range of reports.
* Managing own workload and that of others within defined budgets and programmes.
* Providing input to bids and business development activities to secure work for the team.
* Continuous development of technical and digital skills.
About you
* Higher degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject.
* Knowledge of a range of air quality and carbon issues including relevant policies and standards.
* Experience of a range of modelling and assessment techniques.
* Experience of analysing and interpreting data using spreadsheet and GIS based tools.
* Experience of reporting and presenting to different stakeholders.
* Proficient in standard IT applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* An understanding of health and safety risk management.
* A full valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel for surveys.
Desirable but not essential
* Prior experience of working in air quality consultancy.
* Experience of preparing emission inventories for dispersion models.
* Experience of using statistical analysis packages and/or a computer programming language.
* Experience of working with other environmental specialisms.
* Experience of working unsupervised on site.
* Experience of project management.
