Job Responsibilities
The provisional timetable represents a job plan consisting of 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week. The plan sets out duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year and covers all aspects of the consultant’s professional practice, including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external.
In addition it will include personal objectives that link to wider service objectives and detail the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and objectives.
The job plan for 10 PAs will commence with 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPA). After six months the SPA allocation will be reviewed and may be increased up to a maximum of 2.5 SPAs. It is expected that more direct clinical care (DCC) sessions in theatre or clinic would be available if required.
