Highways development control experience, primarily in responding to planning application consultations as a highway consultee.
Experience providing highway advice on planning applications particularly in a two-tier authority context where the county is the highway authority but not the local planning authority.
Highways development control experience.
Knowledge of Staffordshire’s local transport policies and the Staffordshire Local Plan, alongside national guidance (NPPF, Manual for Streets).
Good understanding of the S106 process for securing highway mitigation and sustainable transport improvements.
Ability to assess Travel Plans, and site access designs to design standards, focusing on rural and semi-urban development’s typical to Staffordshire (e.g., village expansions, logistics parks, edge-of-town housing).
Experience providing pre-application advice to developers, helping to set parameters for traffic surveys/modelling and discussing junction improvements.
Experience providing highway advice on planning applications particularly in a two-tier authority context.
