Overview
The fuels instructor role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a small team, delivering dynamic fuel training to military personnel and managing Distributed Training Courses. This position is varied and suits those looking to learn and develop their skills in a military environment.
Responsibilities
* Preparation and delivery of the Defence Fuels and Lubricant (F&L) Managers course, support Pet Lab courses and conduct administration and assurance of Distributed Training for all Bulk Fuel Carrying Vehicles, including site visits.
* Deliver all aspects of fuel training within courses conducted at DPSTS, part of LSTW (Logistics Specialist Training Wing), DSLA.
* Communicate effectively and confidently when delivering complex lesson content to Service Personnel (SP) of varied ranks and Civil Servant (CS) grades.
* Examination of individuals in accordance with DSLA Standing Instructions and LSTW Directives.
* Maintain discipline and manage the welfare of instructors and students on F&L courses.
* Ensure preparation and daily management of classrooms, lessons, training aids and other materials necessary for course delivery.
* Control the preparation, setting and marking of progress tests and final examinations through the Examinations Manager.
* Liaise and follow up on remarks made on Internal Validations.
* Ensure that civilian legislation or military policy changes are applied to course content via the Defence Fuels (DF) Course Improvement Form (CIF) process and ECMR Electronic Course Maint Request.
* Act as Subject Matter Expert on all aspects of F&L training.
* Be conversant with all elements of the Supervisory Care Directives.
* Carry out periodic assurance checks on all delivery documentation to ensure compliance and relevance, working closely with other departments where appropriate.
* Develop course content based on student feedback.
* Generate a robust annual training programme.
* Support other courses where required.
* Collaborate with other team members and military colleagues to deliver an exciting training programme to a Tri-Service audience.
