Title – School Premise Manager

Location – Bedfordshire

As the School Premises Manager you will serve the needs of the project, and be responsible for the overall provision of day to day repairs for the School Site including PPM’S and to assist with the other School Premises Managers employed as part of a team at the School to ensure the delivery of Services.

What you will be doing:

1. Open and close the school daily, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe and secure
2. Activate/deactivate alarms and lock all doors, windows, and gates at the end of each day
3. Check heating, lighting, and hot water systems for functionality
4. Carry out minor repairs, make safe any hazards, and report urgent faults
5. Liaise with contractors on-site and monitor cleaning standards
6. Maintain outdoor areas, clear litter, empty bins, and ensure safe pathways during adverse weather
7. Perform general portering duties, including moving furniture and handling deliveries
8. Complete minor Health & Safety checks and associated records (fire systems, emergency lighting, water systems)
9. Provide cover for lettings, emergencies, and other schools as required, including contractor inductions and training support

About you:

10. Experienced in site security, building checks, and basic maintenance
11. Skilled in liaising with contractors and monitoring cleaning standards
12. Knowledgeable in Health & Safety procedures, including fire systems and emergency checks
13. Flexible and proactive, able to provide cover, respond to emergencies, and support team training
